A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Payroll Tax Manager to join its team at the corporate office or G&A satellite office.

Summary

Primarily responsible for all payroll tax functions for G&A, including being the Subject Matter Expert for all things related to payroll taxes.  Oversee onboarding activities related to payroll taxes, filing of all payroll tax returns (Federal and State).

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise other payroll tax personnel, including payroll tax supervisor and onboarding tax specialist
  • Oversee review, reconciliation, and approval of quarterly ASO (Administrative Services Only) payroll data import with quarterly returns previously filed (for mid-year implementations)
  • Oversee processing of account registrations for ASO clients going into new states
  • Oversee maintenance of login database for all ASO clients

Other Duties:

  • Become payroll tax subject matter expert on proper employee taxation initially for ASO and PEO (Professional Employers Organization) clients
  • Ensure all required tax information is obtained from clients, including Account Numbers, Rates, and Logins
  • Oversee review of quarterly tax return, reports, and reconciliations prepared by Tax Team members. Maintain database of quarterly reconciliations at a summary level for all ASO clients

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or accounting is required.

Skills & Experience:

  • 8-10 years of payroll tax experience in a multi-company, multi-state tax environment. PEO/Outsourcing experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Accounting software, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), ERP, Payroll systems and Office
