A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Claims Analyst Assistant to join its team at the corporate office located in Houston, TX.

Summary

This position will provide support to the G&A Claims Analysts to ensure all workplace injury claims are properly recorded and that appropriate care is given to all co-employees ensuring a quick and safe return to productive work

Responsibilities

  • Claim Reporting
    • Receives notice of work-related injuries and records them in the company’s claims management system. Follows up with clients to obtain any missing information.
    • Assists client companies with the completion of workers’ compensation accident reporting forms.
    • Assigns newly reported workplace claims to Claim Analysts.
    • Following the direction of the Claims Analysts, reports claims to G&A’s workers’ compensation carrier, as needed.
    • Enters all new claims that qualify as recordable incidents into G&A’s payroll system for OSHA record keeping purposes and maintains ongoing information relating to OSHA record keeping standards.
  • Medical Bills
    • Receives and indexes medical bills related to workplace injuries.
    • Forwards medical bills to the appropriate carrier or to G&A’s medical bill auditing vendor for auditing.
    • Processes medical bills for payment once received from the bill auditing vendor.
    • Assists Claims Analyst with invoicing clients for medical bills.
    • Saves all medical bills in the claims system.
  • Completes forms for workplace claims as directed by the Claims Analysts (i.e. Wage reports, Bonafide offer letters, etc.).
  • Processes deductible invoices for WC claims as the direction of Claims Analysts.
  • Requests and provides loss runs as needed.
  • Updates OSHA data in HRP for OSHA 300 & 301 logs.
  • Serves as a backup for the Claims Analyst Assistant II and Risk Management Admin Asst.
  • Order supplies for the Risk department when needed.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a backup for the Claims Analyst Assistant II and Risk Management Admin Asst.
  • Order supplies for the Risk department when needed.
  • Creates claims reports as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-2 years of workers’ compensation claims experience a plus.
  • Good grammatical and organizational skills.

Computer Skills:

  • Able to work with various software applications.
  • CRM experience a plus.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Current workers’ compensation license in the state of Texas a plus.
