A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a 401(k) Specialist to join its team at the corporate office or G&A satellite office.

Summary

Support consultant team from an internal perspective on installing and administering retirement plan clients. This role includes communication with clients, business advisors, third party administrators and recordkeeping partners to provide administrative support for plan employees, retirees, and beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the administration of the Multiple Employer retirement plan, the Pooled Employer Retirement plan, and any outside client plans.
  • Reviews and confirms employee enrollment forms and distribution request for worksite employees of the Multiple Employer plan and Pooled Employer Plan.
  • Reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness and secures any missing information.
  • Sets up employee plans and plan elections and loans deductions in the payroll system.
  • Provides outstanding customer service with the ability to communicate eligibility criteria, enrollment process and plan features.
  • Acts as a primary contact for day-to-day record-keeping matters with an emphasis on first-call resolution for items relating to compliance, systems, and payroll processing
  • Respond to inquiries regarding 401(k) technical, produce, and compliance questions by researching and resolving issues
  • Ensure department adherence to daily schedule to support call volumes for inbound client and participant questions.

Other Duties:

  • Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies.
  • Researches and responds to client and employee inquiries in compliance with DOL/IRS/ERISA standards.
  • Coordinates with the prior plan provider(s) to ensure all necessary prior plan data is collected
  • Maintains employee benefit files in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Remains knowledgeable of new/changing DOL/IRS regulations as they relate to the retirement plan industry
  • Assist with reconciliation of retirement plans on account
  • Communicate with compliance team on ADP/ACP testing and other compliance matters.
  • Additional retirement plan duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Responds to assigned clients in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 1-3 years of experience in retirement industry

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Data Analysis.
  • Experience with Project Management tools.
  • Experience in retirement plan compliance and plan administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Retirement Plan Fundamentals Certificate (RPF with ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals) required during 1st year of employment
  • Other ASPPA, ERPA, or similar Retirement Plan licensures are a plus, but not required
