A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team at the corporate office, G&A satellite office, or work 100% remotely.

Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for upholding the integrity and timeliness of our corporate financial statements. The position conducts month-end financial close tasks, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other relevant professional financial standards. The position independently performs routine and complex accounting and financial duties.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day – Oversees accounting operations for assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring data is accurately posted. Monitors compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Reports outstanding issues to appropriate business partners by providing detailed information to ensure timely resolution and accurate transactions.
  • Month-End Close – Performs timely reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. Follows appropriate accounting controls, as well as recommends new internal controls and accounting policies, where appropriate, to ensure adherence to and understanding of accounting policies.
  • Financial Analysis Support – Analyzes financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provides insights to management regarding financial performance.
  • Audit Support – Assists in the coordination of documentation for external auditors during the quarterly ESAC and annual audit engagements.
  • Change Management – Evaluates, recommends, and implements opportunities to improve and automate processes, ensuring financial data integrity and solid accounting controls.
  • Stakeholder Management – Collaborates with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data. Represents the department on teams and projects to ensure that department needs are met, and actions of the team are in line with departmental goals. Clearly communicates impact to the department.

Other Duties:

  • Assists Finance leadership with other duties, as assigned.
  • Acts as a back up for other positions as needed.
  • Maintains high levels of accuracy.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Provides excellent customer service with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting is required.

Skills & Experience:

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Strong collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for actions.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent people, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented and focused on completion and follow up.
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.

Salary

Starting wage is $31.25/hr. up to $36.06/hr

The starting range represents the low and high end of the G&A Partners’ range for this position. Actual wages will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of G&A’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include commissions, annual bonuses, and program specific rewards. In addition, G&A Partners provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending, ancillary benefits, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
